User-defined attributes

You can create new COS attributes. After creating the attribute, assign it to the desired object types.

Adding new attributes

Do the following:

1. In the CADMATIC desktop, select Object > Manage COS. The COS Networks dialog opens.

2. Browse to [server] > Common Configuration > Database Schema, and double-click Attributes. The COS Attribute Configuration dialog opens.

   

3. Click New. The New Attribute dialog opens.

   

4. Name – Enter a unique name for the attribute.

5. Abbreviation – Enter a unique abbreviation (tag) for the attribute.

6. Type – Select the required type from the drop-down menu, and then define the type-specific settings. See COS attribute types.

7. Unique Assign – Select this option if you want the attribute to be such that it can only be assigned to a single object type at a time.

8. Click OK.
